General contractor obtains judgment and receives payment prior to execution in dispute with owner of manufacturing facility

Jones Day successfully represented a general contractor in a dispute with the owner of a manufacturing facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The general contractor was not paid by the owner for structural steel repairs and demolition. The general contractor filed a mechanics' lien and breach of contract complaint pursuant to the Pennsylvania Contractor and Subcontractor Payment Act. Jones Day sought and was granted a special and preliminary injunction prohibiting the removal of fixtures and property from the facility. The general contractor obtained a judgment and proceeded to execute on the judgment. The general contractor received payment in full just prior to the sheriff's sale.
