Atlas Energy Resources defends unitholder challenge to acquisition by Atlas America of remaining units of company

Client(s) Atlas Energy Resources

Jones Day represented Atlas Energy Resources and certain individuals against a lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court challenging the acquisition by Atlas America (who at the time already owned a substantial stake in Atlas Energy Resources) of the remaining units of the company.  After taking document discovery, the plaintiffs chose not to seek to enjoin the transaction and, following the consummation of the deal, all of our clients were dismissed at the motion to dismiss stage in 2010.
