Leading German biotech company signs Outlicensing Agreement

Jones Day advised and represented a German biotech company on the outlicensing of its lead candidate, a tumor suppressor protein, to a leading global pharmaceutical company. The licensee will pay significant up-front and near-term payments to licensor, including research funding to support further development. With milestones of more than EUR 80 million as well as royalties on potential future net sales of products, this is the largest biotech outlicensing deal in Germany in 2010 sofar.
