FASO and A2F form partnership with PEARL Microfinance Company

Jones Day counseled FASO Investments (FASO) and A2F Consulting (A2F) in connection with a partnership with PEARL Microfinance Company Ltd. (PEARL), a credit institution located in Uganda. In the context of this partnership, FASO will acquire a significant interest in the equity of PEARL and A2F will assist PEARL with its reorganization by furnishing financial and operational advise. The long-term objective is to convert PEARL into a depository institution and to transform it into one of the preeminent banking services providers in Uganda. PEARL is currently working with more than 14,000 small businesses mainly through loans and other forms of financial assistance. FASO Investments is a Dutch investment fund whose primary purpose is to invest in microfinancing companies in developing countries that have demonstrated unwavering ethical standards. Microfinance investment manager BlueOrchard and social investment company ResponsAbility are a few of the major investors in FASO. FASO is managed by A2F, an American consulting company, which advises microcredit institutions in developing countries.
