Lawful permanent resident is granted dismissal of deportation order

Client(s) Martinez-Aispuro, Jesus Paul

Jones Day obtained dismissal of a deportation order against Jesus Paul Martinez-Aispuro, a lawful permanent resident, in a pro bono matter. The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) upheld the deportation order, and Jones Day was appointed to represent the client on appeal to the Ninth Circuit. After Jones Day filed a brief before the Ninth Circuit, the Government conceded error and sought remand to the BIA. The BIA reversed its earlier decision and dismissed the deportation order.
