Laurent Vercauteren advises banks, financial institutions, and corporate borrowers on leveraged cross-border acquisition finance, syndicated loans, secured financing, project finance, and refinancing transactions. He also has experience in capital markets and banking and financial regulation.
Laurent has represented clients such as Belfius, BNP Paribas, BTMU, European Investment Bank, ING, KBC, Rabobank, SMBC, Société Générale, and other local and international lenders in some of Belgium's recent high-profile acquisition finance and project finance transactions. His experience includes advising large consortiums of lenders with respect to the provision of financing offshore wind farms in Belgium and abroad.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2016, Laurent worked for a U.S. law firm in Brussels and London and was seconded to a multinational electric utility company where he was a member of the legal finance team that was involved in drafting and negotiating project finance documents.
