Marc Rijkaart van Cappellen has almost 20 years of experience assisting clients with complex cross-border acquisitions, investments, and (re)structurings. He has worked on many notable transactions, including representing Verizon in the third-largest M&A deal in history as Dutch corporate counsel to Verizon Communications, Inc. in its $130 billion acquisition of the 45 percent stake in Verizon Wireless owned by British cell phone carrier Vodafone, including the sale of Verizon's 23.1 percent minority stake in Vodafone Omnitel N.V. to Vodafone for $3.5 billion.

Marc's practice encompasses international corporate (re)structuring and cross-border equity/debt capital markets transactions, including IPOs and public offers, corporate governance, joint ventures, and strategic alliances. Key representations include advising Nasdaq-listed BioMarin Pharmaceutical on the successful €680 million public takeover offer for Dutch biotech company Prosensa Holding NV, Randstad on the successful $429 million public takeover offer for Monster Worldwide, and Marfrig Global Foods on various notes offerings, including Marfrig's latest US$750 million notes offering.

Marc has been appointed by Royal Decree as a civil law notary (notaris) and is a member of the Royal Professional Organization of Civil Law Notaries and the Dutch Association of Commercial Law.
