John Papadakis has a broad-based employee benefits practice covering all forms of share incentive and pension arrangements. He has extensive experience in setting up tax-advantaged and non-tax-advantaged share incentive plans for public and private companies, both globally and in the UK. He advises on the related tax, trust, corporate, and securities laws and UK corporate governance and institutional investor requirements. His pension experience covers personal and occupational pension plans, and he advises on trust, tax, and employment law and regulatory issues affecting pension plans. His recent pensions work has included advice to employers on ongoing funding issues and negotiations over employer covenants, the closure of plans to future accrual, the sectionalization of plans, the wind-up of plans, and restructuring issues.

Recent share incentive engagements include work for Hansteen Holdings Plc, Manpower Inc., Procter & Gamble, Quixant Plc, Samhi Hotels, STERIS Corporation, and Ted Baker Plc. He also has recently advised many companies in relation to their pension plans, including British Land, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, Materion Corporation, Starwood Hotels, State Street Bank, The Timken Company, and USG Corporation.

John is a member of the Share Plan Lawyers Organisation, the Association of Pension Lawyers, and the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals.
