Wataru Nakajima focuses his practice on cross-border M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, strategic investments, and foreign direct investments.

Wataru has advised a variety of Japanese and international clients in a broad range of industry sectors, including automotive, manufacturing, financial services, technology, telecommunications, life science and health care, sports and entertainment, education, e-commerce, retail and consumer goods, and energy. In particular, Wataru has extensive experience and insight in various aspects of automotive law, including regulations, product recall, autonomous driving technology, and distribution laws.

In addition to his transactional practice, Wataru frequently advises public and private companies on antitrust and competition matters, trade laws including foreign direct investment and export controls, government regulations, investigations, and general corporate matters.

Wataru is an active member of the International Exchange Committee of Dai-Ichi Tokyo Bar Association and frequently hosts visiting delegates of bar associations from a variety of jurisdictions.
