Stephanie Mishaga is an IP lawyer who handles patent and trademark matters. She practices before U.S. district courts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Her experience spans technologies that involve artificial intelligence (AI) including life science AI applications, bioinformatics, blockchain, semiconductor devices, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), digital signal processing, database management software, graphical user interfaces, software architectures, medical devices and patient monitoring systems, digital health, fitness equipment, on-board diagnostic (OBD) devices, renewable energy technologies including solar and electrical vehicles, vapor products including electronic nicotine delivery systems, and utility power systems.
Steph is a registered patent attorney and represents clients before the USPTO. Relying on her industry experience as an electrical engineer, Steph has drafted and prosecuted patent applications and handled trademark opposition proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Utilizing her strong patent prosecution background, Steph performs freedom to operate, due diligence, and invalidity analyses. She has patent litigation and inter partes review experience before U.S. district courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Her trade secret litigation experience includes discovering evidence demonstrating source code misuse.
With more than five years industry experience as an engineer at General Dynamics, Steph is familiar with combat systems weapon and sensor software development and OBD devices. She integrated air/surface radars, guided missile systems, surface gun systems, and electronic weaponry detection systems aboard U.S. Navy ships.
Steph also actively represents United States Armed Forces veterans through pro bono initiatives. She has handled discharge characterization and disability benefit decision appeals before the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
