Javier Muñoz Méndez has in-depth technical knowledge of the Spanish real estate market. He has more than 15 years of experience representing domestic and international companies on a wide range of transactions in all aspects of real estate proceedings, including acquisitions and dispositions, sale-leasebacks, and management and commercial leasing of retail and industrial space throughout Spain. He also has extensive experience in the development, construction, and refurbishment of real estate assets. In addition, Javier handles corporate transactions related to companies from the real estate sector that involve joint ventures, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring and refinancing operations.

Javier has advised national and international investors, REITs (real estate investment trusts), family offices, financial entities, insurance companies, national and international developers, retail outlets, and industrial and service companies. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, Javier represented companies in numerous matters, including KanAm Grund on the acquisition of a portfolio of office buildings, Stoneshield Capital on the acquisition of various student housing projects, and Goodman on the acquisition and development of several logistics projects.

Other companies with which Javier has worked in recent years include ECE Real Estate Partners, Real I.S., Proudreed Holding, GLP Capital Partners, BNP Paribas Real Estate, and Mutua Madrileña.

Javier has been a speaker in the access to the legal profession master's degree programs at Universidad Carlos III, Universidad San Pablo-CEU, and Instituto de Práctica Empresarial.
