Mike Jansen has more than 25 years of experience in public and private M&A, private equity, joint ventures, and venture capital transactions, as well as in corporate advisory work, including governance issues. His clients include U.S. and European multinationals, companies in the EMI industry, and large and mid-size domestic corporations.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2016, Mike worked for 21 years at a global law firm, serving as its managing partner and chairman of the board for five of those years. Mike's experience includes representing LUKOIL in the acquisition of the Verolma Groep, Fairstar Heavy Transport in the hostile takeover by Dockwise White Marlin, and Dover Cooperation in the acquisition of certain parts of NXP Semiconductors.
Mike is a member of the European Venture Capital Association, the International Bar Association, and the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA). He also serves on the board and is a member of various corporate, cultural, and charity organizations.
The following represents experience acquired prior to joining Jones Day.
Represented LUKOIL in the acquisition of the Verolma Groep (which constituted the entrance of LUKOIL into the Dutch market).
Represented Mr. H.J. Cruijff in his position as a member of the supervisory board of AFC Ajax and in subsequent legal procedures.
Represented Fairstar Heavy Transport in the hostile takeover by Dockwise White Marlin.
Represented Cargill in the purchase of the animal nutrition business of Provimi.
Represented Dover Cooperation in the acquisition of certain parts of NXP Semiconductors.
Represented ADG Dienstengroep S.E. with respect to the purchase and (governance) restructuring of a number of organizations in the home care business.
Represented Swiss-listed Agta Record in the acquisition of Toegangstechniek B.V., which was part of the estate of Royale Imtech N.V. that went bankrupt in August 2015.
Advised U.S.-listed company Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation on the acquisition of the Dutch company Xsens B.V.
