Jeremy Cole is a first-chair trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience. He has represented clients in complex, high-stakes lawsuits and arbitrations with amounts at issue up to and exceeding $1 billion.
Jeremy represents clients in disputes arising from collaboration, license, and acquisition agreements. He recently led a Jones Day team that successfully defended a pharmaceutical client against a $300 million-plus claim where the tribunal found no breach and awarded the client several million dollars in fees and costs. He has litigated cases in federal and state courts across the country and has arbitrated disputes before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the American Arbitration Association (AAA), among other institutions. He also helped obtain a defense verdict in a Fortune 150 client's first (and only) products liability trial for a significant product, deterring future claims.
Jeremy has experience in federal and state investigations and related litigation. He helped coordinate the defense of a Fortune 150 client in over a dozen state attorney general actions, asserting unfair and deceptive practices. He has led internal investigations for multinational clients within and outside the United States. He also defended a client charged with racketeering, mail and wire fraud, and other federal offenses in a three-month jury trial.
Jeremy counsels clients on international agreements spanning Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Jeremy is active in the Chicago community. He volunteers for and serves as board chair of Working In the Schools (WITS), a literacy-focused nonprofit that mentors children in Chicago Public Schools.
