Micron Technology defeat of putative wage and hour class action affirmed by Idaho Supreme Court

Client(s) Micron Technology, Inc.

Jones Day secured dismissal of a putative class action lawsuit for Micron Technology, Inc. involving claims for allegedly unpaid bonus amounts. The plaintiffs sought in excess of $20 million on behalf of employees subject to the Idaho Wage Claim Act who earned a performance-based bonus after the conclusion of fiscal year 2018. Micron filed a summary judgment motion based on the six-month statute of limitations applicable to claims for "additional wages." The court granted summary judgment, finding that the class claims were time-barred, and entered judgment in favor of Micron. The judgment was then affirmed by the Idaho Supreme Court in March 2022.
