Google prevails at Federal Circuit against patent claims directed to data compression

Client(s) Google LLC

Jones Day successfully represented Google LLC at the Federal Circuit, obtaining an affirmance of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board's determination that patent claims directed to data compression and transmission were unpatentable as obvious. At the Federal Circuit's affirmance, Jones Day defeated Vedanti Licensing Limited's motion to vacate the PTAB's determination under the time limitations outlined by the Patent Act and the Federal Circuit's decision in Click-to-Call Techs, LP. v. Ingenio.
