Synopsys receives antitrust clearance for $523 million acquisition of Magma Design Automation

Jones Day secured merger clearance from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, which ended its investigation without issuing a second request, on behalf of Synopsys, Inc. in connection with its $523 million acquisition of Magma Design Automation Inc. Synopsys and Magma are providers of Electronic Design Automation technology (EDA), the software that allows semiconductor manufacturers to plan, simulate, and test their designs prior to printing silicon.
