Jones Day represented a prominent health care institution in connection with an institution-wide audit of their wage and hour policies and practices. Jones Day reviewed the institution's written policies and practices, interviewed a representative sample of individuals in timekeeping and payroll roles, consulted with the payroll personnel, reviewed their employee classifications, and analyzed the effectiveness of the wage and hour procedures in place. As a result of this review, Jones Day identified areas of risk and recommended improvements and alternatives to minimize the risk of liability in the event of a future lawsuit or investigation.
