Sila asserts patent infringement at ITC involving battery innovations

Client(s) Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. and Georgia Tech Research Corporation

Jones Day represents Sila Nanotechnologies, Inc. ("Sila") and Georgia Tech Research Corporation in a Section 337 investigation before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Eastern District of Texas. The ITC instituted the investigation based on a complaint filed by Sila alleging that Carbon ONE New Energy Group Co., Ltd., Carbon One New Energy (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Lichen New Material Technology Co., Ltd. are importing silicon-carbon anode materials that infringe four of Sila's U.S. patents. Sila is seeking a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders to protect its battery innovations. The investigation has been assigned to ALJ Hines.
