Qualcomm resolves patent infringement claims brought by Onesta IP before ITC and in WDTX involving five chip patents

Jones Day defended Qualcomm Incorporated ("Qualcomm") against patent infringement claims brought by Onesta IP, LLC ("Onesta IP") before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and in the Western District of Texas. Onesta IP, a non-practicing entity that acquired a significant portfolio of patents from Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., alleged that Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor chips—the chips powering a broad range of smartphones and other mobile devices—infringed five patents directed to core processor technologies, including shared virtual memory management, CPU power management, and CPU-GPU task coordination. Following fact discovery that strengthened Qualcomm's positions, the parties resolved their dispute.
