M&A lawyer Daigo Takahashi joins Jones Day's Corporate Practice in Tokyo
Daigo Takahashi has joined Jones Day as of counsel in its Corporate Practice. He is based in the Firm's Tokyo Office.
Mr. Takahashi is a bilingual lawyer with more than a decade of experience contributing to complex cross-border transactions for Japanese, U.S., and other multinational clients. Having practiced in both Tokyo and San Francisco, his practice spans mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, strategic investments, joint ventures, and other corporate matters across multiple sectors, including technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, industrials, consumer products, and health care/life sciences. Mr. Takahashi has extensive experience on both Japan outbound and inbound transactions, as well as assisting Japan-headquartered multinationals, their U.S. affiliates, and the Japanese business community in the U.S.

At Jones Day, Mr. Takahashi joins the Firm's global Corporate Practice, which encompasses M&A and Private Equity. In the last five years, Jones Day has advised clients on more than 3,000 M&A transactions collectively valued at $1.5 trillion, and many of the world's leading private equity funds are counseled by Jones Day in the full range of corporate transactions.

Mr. Takahashi earned his law degree from the University of California at San Francisco College of the Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Irvine. He has been recognized as "Ones to Watch" for Corporate and M&A Law by The Best Lawyers in Japan (2025). Mr. Takahashi is admitted to practice in California, and his application for registration as a Registered Foreign Lawyer (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi) in Japan is currently in process.
