Jones Day's São Paulo Office headquarters the Firm's Latin American practice and is strategically located to provide legal counsel to Brazilian companies wishing to expand globally, and to support global clients with inbound investments into Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America, working together with the best local independent firms. Established in 2011 and acting as a foreign legal consultancy, we offer U.S. and Spanish law advice to our clients. Our lawyers, fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French, have spent many years working with clients on matters in Brazil and throughout Latin America, and have a great understanding of the business culture in the region.

The São Paulo Office concentrates on cross-border M&A, private equity, infrastructureconstruction and transportation, mining and energy transactions, pharmaceutical, technology outsourcing and other strategic alliances, as well as banking and finance and capital markets transactions involving a variety of sectors. Working with our partners in Europe and the United States in an integrated and seamless manner as One Firm Worldwide, we have handled a number of cross-border restructurings and distressed M&A matters involving Brazil and other Latin American countries. Counting on the experience and support of many Jones Day partners based in the United States that are former federal prosecutors who, while in government, focused on investigation allegations of sophisticated white-collar crime within the framework of the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, we also have extensive experience assisting companies in the development and implementation of compliance programs, including advice on business conduct, anticorruption measures, antitrust conduct, gift policies, trade and commercial compliance, and regulated entities compliance.

Jones Day is among the very few law firms that has offices in São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Miami, and Madrid, as well as the major U.S., European, and Asian business and finance hubs.

In keeping with the Global Citizenship Initiative launched by the Firm, lawyers in the São Paulo Office participate on the boards of many not-for-profit organizations such as the Brazil Foundation, CDI International, AlfaSol, and the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS).
