DOJ trial attorney Alisha Crovetto returns to Jones Day in Washington

Alisha Crovetto has rejoined Jones Day as of counsel in the Health Care & Life Sciences Practice. She is based in the Firm's Washington Office.

Ms. Crovetto has served since March 2021 as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, where she litigated complex civil and criminal enforcement cases related to consumer health and safety in courts across the United States. Her work there focused on cases involving violations of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act and the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic (FD&C) Act, including investigations into matters involving deceptive advertisements, unapproved drugs, and adulterated foods. Prior to entering government service, Ms. Crovetto was an associate in Jones Day's Washington Office from 2015 to 2021, where she represented hospital systems and multinational pharmaceutical companies in federal and state courts in complex commercial cases involving antitrust law, expedited mergers, and consumer class actions.

"Alisha achieved great success as a trial attorney at the Justice Department," said Heather O'Shea, co-leader of Jones Day's Health Care & Life Sciences Practice. "The knowledge and experience she gained working with health agencies, and the FDA in particular, will be very beneficial to our health care and life sciences clients, and is an important complement to our team worldwide. I am pleased to welcome her back to Jones Day."

At Jones Day, Ms. Crovetto joins a cross-disciplinary team of lawyers who advise clients worldwide on high-stakes issues across the entire spectrum of the health care and life sciences industry. Jones Day's Health Care & Life Sciences Practice represents entities throughout the health sector, from health systems and academic medical centers to pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies.

"Alisha was a highly respected lawyer at Jones Day and went on to make an important mark in government service these past several years, establishing a reputation as a skilled litigator with substantive experience in the area of regulated food, device, and drug products," said Noel Francisco, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Washington Office. "I am so pleased that she has decided to return to our team here in Washington and look forward to working with her once again to serve our clients."

Ms. Crovetto began her legal career as a law clerk to The Hon. Juan Torruella in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston, and then as a law clerk to The Hon. Rudolph Contreras in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington. During law school, she was a summer associate in Jones Day's Washington Office. She earned her law degree from Harvard Law School and her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.

"I am grateful for the incredible opportunity to have worked at the Justice Department for the past four years, where it was my honor to serve the public in enforcing our consumer health and safety laws," said Ms. Crovetto. "It is now time for a new career chapter and I am excited to be returning to the professional home where I learned what it means to be a practicing lawyer.
