Caroline Van Wagoner represents companies in complex civil litigation and government and internal investigations. She has experience in all stages of litigation and in a variety of matters, including antitrust and unfair competition, class actions, fraud, commercial disputes, and intellectual property. Caroline also defends clients in investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Caroline recently represented a health care provider in parallel federal and state class actions that alleged tying and market leveraging. She was part of the team that secured a complete defense verdict on the client's behalf after a five-week jury trial. Caroline worked on all aspects of party, third-party, and expert discovery, class certification, dispositive motion practice, and trial preparation. Her other recent matters include defending a pharmaceutical manufacturer in nationwide class action and multidistrict litigation against antitrust and consumer protection claims and defending a company in the railroad industry against claims of anticompetitive conduct. Caroline has also represented companies in complex, multijurisdictional investigations.

Caroline maintains an active pro bono practice. Most recently, she represented three domestic violence victims in evidentiary hearings to secure permanent restraining orders on their behalf. In addition, she has successfully represented asylum seekers.
