Piper Powers represents clients in intellectual property disputes and a wide range of complex civil litigation matters. She has defended clients in state and federal courts. Recent examples include successfully arguing a motion for a preliminary injunction in the Southern District of Texas and securing a unanimous $2.3 million jury verdict in Texas state court, where Piper conducted multiple direct examinations and handled several pretrial and post-trial arguments.
Piper's experience includes taking and defending depositions, working with expert witnesses, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting all aspects of discovery, managing mediations, and negotiating settlements. In addition to her work in state and federal courts, Piper has significant experience in arbitrations before JAMS (Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services) and AAA (American Arbitration Association). She has represented clients across diverse industries, including enterprise software and cloud computing, health care, energy, construction, and pharmaceuticals.
