Chris Pottmeyer represents clients in high-stakes commercial disputes in state and federal courts and arbitral proceedings. Drawing on experience gained in private practice and in-house for a nuclear technology company, Chris focuses his practice on construction-related disputes, representing contractors, developers, owners, and technology suppliers. He also has assisted clients resolve disputes involving contract breaches, business torts, class actions, investigations, and insurance recovery. Chris's experience includes examining witnesses at trial and successfully briefing and arguing federal appeals, dispositive motions, motions in limine, and other critical motions.
Chris recently served as the lead associate on multiple trial teams, successfully defending one of the world's largest steel producers in complex contractual disputes — one ended in a favorable Daubert challenge and the other was tried to verdict after a three-week bench trial. Chris was also a member of a team that successfully defended Pennsylvania's largest health care organization in several high-profile disputes.
Most recently, Chris argued a dispositive motion and secured the complete dismissal of breach of contract and fraudulent inducement claims brought against the former owner of an industrial complex, a decision that Chris successfully defended before the Second Circuit.
Chris participates in the Pro Se Pro Bono ADR Program in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he advises pro se litigants for purposes of alternative dispute resolution. Chris is also a former teacher and mentor for students with developmental disabilities.
