Stephen Collier

Stephen Collier represents public companies, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies in connection with domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, internal reorganizations, corporate governance matters, and complex corporate transactions.

Stephen's experience spans the automotive, consumer products, industrial manufacturing, technology products and services, life sciences, and specialty industrial services industries. He has represented leading private equity sponsors, including The Riverside Company and The Stephens Group, and also advises public companies on commercial agreements and corporate governance matters.

Beyond his transactional practice, Stephen maintains an active pro bono practice. His work includes matters for Lawyers Without Borders, Jones Day's Border Project, and the Firm's anti-human trafficking initiatives. Stephen also has served as pro bono counsel to the Ohio Judicial Center Foundation in advancing its mission to preserve the artistic, architectural, and historic integrity, and the public use, of the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Outside the office, Stephen is an avid marathon runner and fundraiser for the 26.2 Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the sport of marathoning through initiatives focused on economic development, education, wellness, and the future growth of the sport. While completing his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University, Stephen was a four-year scholarship quarterback on the football team, where he won the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship and two Big Ten Championships. Prior to joining Jones Day, Stephen worked in the front office of two U.S. professional sports teams, focusing on corporate partnerships and revenue strategy.
