Jeff Baltruzak is a litigator with broad experience in complex commercial litigation, including insurance coverage disputes, consumer fraud/product liability class actions, and qui tam lawsuits. He has represented manufacturers of fertilizer, building products, and aircraft, as well as several leading health systems.

Recently, Jeff has represented a large health care provider in various commercial disputes with its largest payor and a leading asset manager in an earnout dispute.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, Jeff practiced at an international law firm in Chicago. During this time he had first-chair responsibility for a successful action to enforce a nationwide noncompete clause against a former employee who formed a competing business. His other recent work included representation of a leading national charity in multiple arbitrations and litigation in connection with disputes over the disposition of charitable assets. He also represented an investment advisory firm and its associated broker-dealer in a series of cases arising from millions in alleged thefts by a former associated person. In 2013, he successfully represented a large urban hospital in a qui tam lawsuit alleging that it double-billed for services to patients enrolled in research trials.

Jeff was selected as a Pennsylvania "Rising Star" in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 by Super Lawyers magazine. In 2014, he received the Seventh Circuit Bar Association's Pro Bono and Public Service Award for outstanding pro bono work for the U.S. District Courts of Illinois for his representation of a victim of police brutality.
