Kris Shen's practice focuses on cross-border M&A, investment and financing, foreign direct investments (FDIs), corporate matters, and other commercial transactions. Kris has provided legal services to clients in emerging industries, including automotive, food manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, and health care. She has also advised foreign investors in setting up wholly foreign-owned enterprises (WFOEs) and joint ventures in China and has provided legal services on general corporate issues relating to the formation and labor and employment of projects. She also advises Chinese companies on outbound investments across Southeast Asia, the United States, and Mexico.
Kris's recent deal experience includes: a leading Chinese automotive company in its formation of a joint venture in Spain; the formation of a joint venture between a leading American automotive parts supplier and a Chinese state-owned company; the acquisition of a Chinese silicone materials company by a prominent international chemical company; a prestigious fund's acquisition of a top-tier telecommunications company in the Philippines; the overseas investments in the credit service sector across Mexico and Indonesia by a leading Chinese fintech company; a globally leading commercial real estate services company's carve-out of its property management business in China; the acquisition of a global leader in non-destructive testing and asset inspection technologies by a NYSE-listed company; and a well-known automotive components company's divestiture of its advanced China operations.
In addition, Kris has conducted internal investigations for multinational corporations to address potential Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations in Asia, tackling issues such as bribery, embezzlement, and conflicts-of-interest.
Kris is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
