Emily Goldberg Knox

Emily Goldberg Knox's practice focuses on complex civil litigation and appellate advocacy in state and federal courts. Her experience spans a broad range of areas, including products liability, public nuisance, antitrust, unfair business practices, fraud, class actions, Anti-Terrorism Act litigation, and transnational torts.

Emily has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and has represented clients at every stage of litigation, from advising on potential claims to drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs; leading discovery efforts; preparing fact and expert witnesses; taking and defending depositions; and arguing motions. She also has experience with international arbitrations.

In addition to her litigation practice, Emily regularly counsels clients on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, including human rights and sustainability claims, and on compliance with extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws.

Emily maintains an active pro bono practice, representing indigent prisoners, individuals in civil rights cases, and asylum applicants. She also has represented clients in cases brought under the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction.

Emily served as a law clerk to Judge Robert L. Wilkins of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and to Judge Beth Labson Freeman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Prior to law school, Emily served as an open-source intelligence analyst focusing on the Middle East and as a recruiter for U.S. government-funded legal reform and rule of law projects. She holds a master's degree in international politics, with a focus on international security and terrorism.
