Ellen Geyer joined our New Lawyers Group (NLG) in 2024. The NLG provides our newest lawyers with the opportunity to gain exposure to different practice areas and lawyering styles before making a commitment to a specific practice. Individuals in the NLG may focus on a particular area of practice, or compare practices, during their first year with Jones Day.
Ellen has extensive experience in sports journalism, which she has leveraged in analyzing the collective bargaining agreements of professional sports leagues across the United States. Her work comparing the penal structures of these agreements, "A League of His Own: Harmonizing Disparate Penal Outcomes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB Collective Bargaining Agreements” was published in the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law in the Spring of 2024.
