Jones Day's Vishal Khatri and Carl Kukkonen named leading intellectual property lawyers by IAM

Jones Day partners Vishal Khatri and Carl Kukkonen are recognized by International Asset Management's (IAM) "IAM Strategy 300" list, which identifies "individuals with a deep understanding of the ways in which intellectual property can most effectively be put to work," and among the "IAM Strategy 300 Global Leaders," which "draws from the worlds of private practice, consulting, and other service providers, with specialists from the major IP markets in North America, Europe, and Asia."

In recent years, Mr. Khatri has represented semiconductor companies, financial institutions, and consumer products companies in patent disputes related to a wide range of technologies, including semiconductors, fintech, and lithium battery technologies. He also successfully represented NXP Semiconductors N.V. at the International Trade Commission against competitor MediaTek in a patent dispute involving five patents directed to semiconductor circuit technology.

Mr. Kukkonen advises innovators in fields spanning medical devices, electronics, telecommunications, and software powered by machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. He currently leads the development and prosecution of industry-defining patent portfolios for several AI-driven cybersecurity pioneers, including Halcyon, an anti-ransomware provider, and HiddenLayer, which shields machine-learning models from attacks and data leakage.
