Philip Pfeffer is a trusted advisor to global companies in the consumer products sector and advises them on their most important disputes throughout the world. He has coordinated the defense of individual and class action products liability lawsuits in numerous jurisdictions and advises consumer product manufacturers on issues of regulatory compliance, crisis prevention and management, and in judicial challenges of regulation. He also has worked on a wide array of disputes ranging from complex multinational commercial matters, investment treaty law disputes, and international trade law cases.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2025, Philip practiced in the London office of an international law firm, where he handled product liability matters for Associated British Foods and Volvo Trucks; represented British American Tobacco in numerous product liability matters as well as judicial challenges to tobacco control regulatory measures involving plain packaging, graphic health warnings, ingredient bans, and tobacco levies in more than a dozen jurisdictions in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas; represented car and truck manufacturers and technology companies in product liability matters arising from connected and autonomous vehicle technologies; advised a multinational alcoholic beverage company on proposed South African advertising and promotion ban for beverage alcohol products; advised Gruppo Campari in contentious proceedings brought by the Portman Group, the de facto UK regulator for the beverage alcohol industry; and represented Twinings Tea in consumer fraud class action litigation in California and Arkansas.

Philip has served as an adjunct professor of law at Fordham University and has lectured on product liability at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
