Lisa Mundos is a commercial litigator, focusing on class actions and group litigation defense. She acts for clients in the most significant securities, product liability, and consumer claims in Australia and the United Kingdom across a diverse range of industries, including automotive and transport, life sciences and health care, energy and resources, and technology. With a deep understanding of the procedural and strategic challenges specific to large-scale collective proceedings, her cross-jurisdictional experience means she is uniquely positioned to deliver coordinated and commercially focused advice to multinational businesses facing concurrent actual or threatened related claims across multiple forums.

Her recent experience includes acting in the Johnson & Johnson talcum powder litigation in the High Court of England and Wales; defending WiseTech Global Limited, a major global trade and logistics company in a shareholder class action in the Supreme Court of Victoria; and Jaguar Land Rover UK in relation to alleged defective DPF (diesel particulate filter) systems in certain vehicles in the Federal Court of Australia. At her prior firms, she acted in a shareholder class action brought in connection with Slater and Gordon's acquisition of the professional services division of Quindell plc and also for an Australian gaming and entertainment company in relation to alleged misleading statements relating to AML/CTF (anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing) compliance.

Lisa also regularly advises on contentious regulatory matters, including ESG (environmental, social, and governance) issues relating to climate and environment. Her disputes background enables her to deliver practical, incisive counsel in order to mitigate enforcement risk, while supporting clients to remain litigation-ready against plaintiff bar activism.

  • Jaguar Land Rover defends against product liability class action in Federal Court of AustraliaJones Day is defending Jaguar Land Rover Limited in a product liability consumer class action in the Federal Court of Australia relating to alleged defects in respect of DPF systems in certain Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
