Joyce McKinniss is a trial lawyer who defends companies in product liability lawsuits and complex civil litigation. She has been a member of more than 20 trial teams and has served as second-chair trial counsel in five of these trials. Joyce has tried cases in state and federal courts.

Since 2009, Joyce has been part of the national coordinating counsel team representing R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in complex personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits. As a member of this team, Joyce has been involved in all stages of litigation, trial preparation, and trial work, developing a wide range of experience that includes offensive and defensive discovery; taking and defending expert and fact depositions; the evaluation, development, and preparation of fact and expert witnesses for trial; and examination of fact and expert witnesses at trial. Joyce has extensive experience with experts across multiple fields, including oncology, pulmonology, psychiatry, history, economics, cardiology, and epidemiology.

Joyce is a member of the Columbus Office Recruiting Committee. She is an active member of the Wittenberg University Alumni Association and recently served on Wittenberg's Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center Development Committee.
