Dan Travers focuses on complex domestic and multijurisdictional disputes and investigations across a number of industry sectors. He has particular experience advising on contentious insolvency, fraud, and corporate matters, including joint venture disputes. The Legal 500 (2025-2026) describes Dan as a "leading partner" in commercial litigation. His practice covers both court litigation and commercial arbitration.

Dan's recent experience includes advising First Curacao International Bank on its successful defense against substantial claims brought by an English liquidator in the High Court. Dan also acted for the liquidators of the BHS Group of companies on their high-profile investigations into one of the largest retail collapses in the United Kingdom. He has presented at various insolvency conferences.

Dan has also acted on a number of high-profile (£1bn+) commercial disputes arising from joint ventures for the likes of Orange (telecoms) and Texas Keystone (U.S. oil and gas company), achieving successful outcomes at trial. He also acted for HRH Prince Abdullah Bin Mosa'ad on his successful claim to take full control of the English football club, Sheffield United, after a hotly contested shareholder dispute and Unfair Prejudice claim.

Dan's other recent experience includes advising a global bank in connection with investigations brought by regulatory and enforcement agencies, including the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Serious Fraud Office (SFO), and Department of Justice (DOJ), in relation to forex and advising on a number of commodity supply-related cases.

Dan has advised, written, and presented on issues surrounding third-party funding.
