Alpha Natural Resources secures refinancing to complete sale of Cessna aircraft

Jones Day acted as counsel for Alpha Natural Resources Inc. ("Alpha"), as the seller of one Cessna aircraft to Contura Energy, Inc., a private, Tennessee-based company that also purchased Alpha's mining operations across multiple major coal basins in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. In particular, Jones Day provided legal services in connection with the negotiation and documentation of an aircraft loan and security agreement for the buyer's refinancing of the Cessna aircraft, which was necessary for Alpha to complete the sale.
