Gurneet Singh to serve as President of South Asian Bar Association of Northern California
Gurneet Singh will serve as President of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California (SABA-NC), which has a distinguished history of 33 years. SABA-NC supports professional development, mentorship, networking, pro bono service, charitable giving, and leadership initiatives, and has long served the South Asian legal community as well as the broader profession and community in Northern California.
Mr. Singh was recognized for his new leadership role at SABA-NC's 30th Annual Gala on March 28, 2026, held at the San Francisco Design Center. The event, attended by nearly 300 people, brought together judges, in-house counsel, government officials, political leaders, law firm attorneys, academics, and community leaders. In his remarks at the gala, Mr. Singh spoke about the chapter's role in building community, expanding access, supporting the rule of law, serving those in need, and embracing the responsibility that comes with leadership and participation in the institutions that shape the profession and the broader community.
Mr. Singh is an intellectual property lawyer in Jones Day's Silicon Valley Office and a member of the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice. His recent accomplishments include successfully representing high-profile clients in complex and high-stakes intellectual property disputes involving wearable computing devices, artificial intelligence, and internet of things technologies. Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Singh is deeply committed to pro bono work and community service. He has provided legal counsel to more than 30 asylum seekers detained at the U.S.-Mexico border, assisted a military veteran with a discharge-upgrade request, and serves on a committee of the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County that helps expand and develop partnerships.
