Jones Day is currently advising Smith International, Inc. on all aspects of Federal and State labor and employment law arising out of its establishment of a new oil and gas services business in Australia. This has included drafting employment agreements for award and non-award employees, localizing company policies, advising on award and modern award coverage, enterprise agreements, minimum conditions of employment, anti-discrimination legislation and other employer obligations arising under the existing Workplace Relations Act 1996 (Cth) and the new Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).
