NRSC, NRCC, and Vice President Vance challenge restrictions on amounts political parties can spend on campaign advertising in coordination with candidates

Client(s) National Republican Senatorial Committee, National Republican Congressional Committee, and Vice President JD Vance

On behalf of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (“NRSC”), the National Republican Congressional Committee (“NRCC”), and Vice President JD Vance, Jones Day presented oral argument before the U.S. Supreme Court in a challenge to the federal government's practice of restricting the amount that political parties can spend on campaign advertising in coordination with their own candidates. Jones Day’s clients argued that the restrictions violate the First Amendment and cannot be squared with recent Supreme Court precedent on campaign finance.
