General Electric completes spinoff of GE Healthcare business

Jones Day served as labor and employment counsel to General Electric Company in its spinoff of GE HealthCare. Effective January 4, 2023, GE Healthcare became a standalone, publicly-traded global medical technology company. Jones Day advised General Electric on employee matters related to the spinoff, including, for example, drafting the employee matters agreement that provides certain protections for affected employees and former employees around the globe and sets forth the timing and general responsibilities related to the split of assets and liabilities of certain GE employee benefit and compensation plans.
