Jones Day filed an amici curiae brief on behalf of the United States Chamber of Commerce and other trade associations opposing a mandamus petition which sought to order OSHA to adopt an emergency temporary standard during the COVID-19 pandemic. The brief principally argued that a new standard is unnecessary because existing workplace safety standards and industry-specific guidance already provide detailed information to help employers protect the health and safety of America’s workers. The D.C. Circuit denied the mandamus petition.
