Investors resolve dispute with claimed inventor of low energy nuclear reaction device

Client(s) Investment company, two alternative energy technology companies, and two executives

Jones Day represented an investment company, two alternative energy technology companies, and two executives in connection with litigation brought by Andrea Rossi and Leonardo Corporation. Plaintiffs Rossi and Leonardo Corporation sought damages in the amount of $89 million based on claims of contract breach, fraud, fraudulent inducement, and trade secret misappropriation. After several days of trial and while plaintiffs were presenting their case in chief, Jones Day obtained a "walk away" settlement that required no payment by its clients (to plaintiffs or any other party), had all parties bear their own costs and fees, and dismissed all claims in the litigation.
