Global automotive supplier merges European Works Councils

Jones Day is advising a global automotive supplier that has commenced the process to eliminate one of its two European Works Councils (EWCs), following a request acquisition. An EWC was already established in the acquired group, so the company is negotiating with the labor unions to merge the two employee representative bodies. The European Works Councils represent employees in six new member states.
