ProMedica signs Academic Affiliation Agreement with University of Toledo

Jones Day represented ProMedica, one of Ohio's largest health systems and a mission-based, not-for-profit healthcare organization, in negotiations with the University of Toledo and its College of Medicine & Life Sciences to develop a premier academic medical center with an emphasis on teaching, research, and the use of technology and evidence-based medicine, for the purpose of enhancing the recruitment and retention of high-quality faculty, students, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals in the region. Leaders from ProMedica and The University of Toledo executed the 50-year academic affiliation agreement whereby ProMedica will provide annual support payments for the academic programs of UT's College of Medicine and Life Sciences, plus an additional $250 million to create a new academic medical campus and technology upgrades.
