Jones Day successfully represented a home healthcare provider in Indiana in defending against an investigation conducted by the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Indiana, the Office of the Indiana Attorney General, and the Health and Human Services Office of Counsel to the Inspector General in connection with a qui tam action filed by a former employee of our client. Following the investigation, the federal and state governments both declined to intervene in the case and the relator voluntarily dismissed the action. The relator's allegations related to billings submitted to Indiana Medicaid by several Medicaid-certified health care agencies on behalf of patients who were beneficiaries of both Medicare and Medicaid.
