Bunge and Solazyme establish framework for joint venture in Brazil to make oil from sugar cane juice and algae

Jones Day assisted Bunge North America, Inc. in the negotiation and preparation of a Joint Venture Framework Agreement with Solazyme related to the formation of a joint venture that would focus on the production of triglyceride oils in Brazil using sugar cane juice feedstock provided by Bunge and algae strains provided by Solazyme. The project involves engineering and construction of an oil production facility adjacent to Bunge's sugar cane processing mill in Brazil.
