Capital Hotels settles claims against former director

Client(s) Capital Hotels Limited

Jones Day advised Capital Hotels Limited (a Bahamian company) in respect of claims against a former director and his associated companies for breach of fiduciary duty and constructive trust in relation to a wrongful transfer of assets and business and in relation to sale of hotel portfolios at an undervalue. Proceedings were issued in London in September 2007 and the trial (which was listed for 20 days) commenced in November 2008 before Mr. Justice Morgan. The case settled on favorable terms after four days of trial.
