Wells Fargo successfully resolves CERCLA cost recovery suit in California

Client(s) Wells Fargo Bank, National Association

Jones Day defended Wells Fargo Bank, National Association in a CERCLA cost recovery suit filed in the Eastern District of California. After several years of litigation, including successfully appealing the denial of a motion to dismiss to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Wells Fargo settled the case on mutually agreeable terms, with most of the settlement funding coming from the Bank's insurers.
