SAP and Manfred Heil prevail in trade secret misappropriation suit brought by Wellogix involving business procurement software

Client(s) SAP AG

Jones Day successfully represented SAP AG defendants and Manfred Heil in an action brought by Wellogix in Galveston, Texas for misappropriation of trade secrets and twelve other causes of action relating to its business procurement software, alleging over $100 million in damages. Jones Day obtained the dismissal of SAP AG, SAP America, Inc. and Manfred Heil from the lawsuit for improper venue based on a German forum selection clause in a contract between SAP A.G. and Wellogix. Wellogix appealed the venue ruling to the Fifth Circuit, but after Jones Day filed its appellee's brief, Wellogix voluntarily dismissed the appeal.
