Jones Day represented affiliates of Cookson Group, including Vesuvius USA Corporation, in the sale of its worldwide ceramic filters business to Süd-Chemie AG.

M&A Advisor awarded Cookson Group plc's sale of its worldwide ceramic filters business to Süd-Chemie AG the title of "Industrial Manufacturing/Distribution Deal of the Year" during the Global M&A Advisor Awards. The divestiture was required by the EU in connection with Cookson's earlier acquisition by merger of Foseco plc in April of 2008. Award recipients from North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa were selected by an independent panel of judges representing a cross-section of the M&A industry.
